Abstract: To evaluate the bending and heat treatment thermal cycling on the mechanical properties of X80 grade steel, the optimum heating temperature and cooling rate in the bending process and the optimum heat treatment parameters. First, the two steel pipes from different furnace batch industrialized bending and heat treatment tests. Then, the steel pipe specimens for laboratory heat treatment test. Samples were heated to 900 to 1000 ℃, and the different rates of cooling, 500 ℃ for 1h heat treatment. The test results show that heating to 900 ~ 1000 ℃ bending, water quenching and tempering (500 ° C, 1h) get a higher yield strength. However, tests under laboratory conditions to achieve the cooling rate in industrial production more difficult to achieve. For the heat test, when the heat treatment temperature is 600 ~ 650 ℃ for optimal yield strength. Based on laboratory test results, the tempering temperature of 600 ~ 650 ℃ is the best choice of the bending process of induction heating production of X80 elbow.
